Marketing and Technical AssistantJoshua Macey
Joshua Macey is a self-taught fine art photographer and cinematographer whose work is deeply rooted in his African and Guyanese heritage. His obsession with the camera started early, experimenting with his father’s old Polaroid.
His career shifted gears in 2019 when he shot his first short film, Cuffy, the Awakening, about the historic Berbice Slave Rebellion. That same year, he teamed up with filmmaker Rae Wiltshire, stepping headfirst into cinema and becoming a core member of the Georgetown Film Festival team.
In 2020, his talent was cemented when the Guyana Annual Magazine published two of his folklore images. Since then, Macey has won the Caribbean Photojournalism Award, and his fine art photography has been exhibited worldwide—including features at Soho House in Toronto and the Yebo Art Gallery in Eswatini, Southern Africa.
